When items  are placed on new composites and never moved, such as flower pots, furniture, door mats, etc; they can block the sun from evenly bleaching, fading or naturally weathering composites.

This exact same issue occurs when composites are not routinely kept clean of stains.

TREX® deck – Weathering – Flower Pot – After

The above two pictures are examples of a Corte*Cleaned® TREX® deck where a flower pot or other items have blocked the sun from evenly weathering/bleaching/fading the composites.

The image below is of a Fiberon® deck that had a fireproof barbecue mat on it that blocked the sun from evenly weathering the composites (look close).

Fiberon® deck – Weathering Issue- BBQ Mat

Before picture of mold, green lichen or moss under barbecue mat. Same deck as above picture.

This is an example of a weathered TimberTech® deck that has been thoroughly Corte Cleaned. See the square un-weathered area where furniture blocked the sun from evenly weathering this composite? Notice the area of this photo, on the left, that is wet with water.

TimberTech® Deck – Weathering – Example
Veranda® Deck – Mold Weathering Issue- Example

The above Veranda® Corte*Cleaned® composite has a natural weathering issue, just like the decks above. The Veranda® deck shows where mold stains have been allowed to block the sun from evenly naturally weathering the composite. This is an extremely common issue on composites that are not kept clean. One can tell that this is a weathering issue when the composite is dry. Weathering issues generally don’t show up, as noticeable, on wet composites. No cleaner will resolve weathering issues without bleaching the composite beyond what occurs  naturally by exposure to the sun. Not to worry, exposure to the sun will naturally weather this issue away. How long? Generally up to 20 weeks of direct sunlight.
